Name 100 Men is a free online memory challenge. The goal is to name 100 notable men from history, science, sport, music, politics, film, or any other field — as fast as possible. Every guess is validated in real time using the Wikidata database.
This game was inspired by the viral Name 100 Women challenge, which itself was based on a social media trend started by streamer QTCinderella. Many people found they could name 100 men much more easily than 100 women — or vice versa. We wanted to offer both sides of the challenge.
When you type a name, the game sends a query to the Wikidata API — the free, open knowledge base maintained by the Wikimedia Foundation. The game checks whether the person exists in Wikidata, whether they are recorded as a human, and whether they are recorded as male. If all three conditions are met, the guess is accepted.
This means the game accepts a very wide range of answers — historical figures, athletes, musicians, scientists, politicians, actors, writers, and many more — as long as they are notable enough to have a Wikidata entry.
